Analysts Predict Improved TV Revenues in Q4

NEW YORK:: Oppenheimer analysts see good news for TV stations. Researchers there say revenues are likely to rise in the current quarter, according to Benzinga.com. The broadcast scatter market also appears to be selling out at higher rates than the upfronts this year, which occurred in the wake of two huge automaker bankruptcies.

According to Oppenheimer, News Corp.’s Fox stations are likely to grow compared to an expectation of a 10 percent decline. Trends are expected to improve through 2010. Fox stations are also expected to get higher scatter rates on double-digit ratings growth.

Overall, the analysts raised their TV earnings-before-interest-and-tax estimates for Fox O&Os by $29 million for the companies fiscal second quarter, and by 40 percent for fiscal 2010.
