AES 123rd Convention Sets Premiere Technical Tours

The Audio Engineering Society announced a series of technical tours for participants at its 123rd Convention Oct. 5-8 at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

On Friday, Oct. 5, tours will be held at three venues. The Clive Davis Department of Recorded Music, part of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, is a state-of-the-art recording and teaching facility in Greenwich Village. Avatar Studios, boasting a discography of more than 400 Gold and Platinum albums, represents one of the last of New York’s large scale working “super studios.” Klavierhaus is a dealer of one-of-a-kind handcrafted pianos and the authorized U.S. dealer for Italy’s renowned Fazioli Pianoforti.

Saturday, Oct. 6, tours include Legacy Recording Studios, 4 Times Square Broadcast Communications, and The Blue Man Group Lab. The lineup for Sunday, Oct. 7, is New York Times Radio Station WQXR, Quad Recording Studios, and Sear Sound Studios. On the final day, Monday, Oct. 8, tours will be held at Brooklyn Phono and at Broadway Sound.
