JVC Announces New ProHD Camcorder

The release of the GY-HD110U, the latest in the series of ProHD professional high-definition products, was announced recently by JVC Corp.

The GY-HD110U provides users with a choice of three image formats, a black-and-white viewfinder display mode, simultaneous use of both eyepiece and LCD displays when powered by IDX or Anton Bauer battery systems, a selectable mirror mode on vertically flipped LCD displays, manual audio control, audio limiting, along with other features.

These new features are enhancements to the feature set available in the ProHD HD100 camcorder line, which include true 24-frame progressive recording, 1280x720 image capture, interchangeable bayonet mount lenses, three-chip 1/3-inch CCD imaging, multiple HD format outputs and compatibility with HDV and DV formats.

"As the ProHD product line progresses, JVC will work to continually improve the performance of our products and bring to market requested functionalities aimed to benefit our customers," said Craig Yanagi, national marketing manager for creation products at JVC.

The new GY-HD110U accommodates all accessories, including lenses and battery system adapters, designed for the HD100 camcorder series.
