AES, AMWA, AIMS, EBU, SMPTE, and VSF sponsor educational theatre and interoperability demos on open standards-based IP transition

With the theme of “Making IP Video Production a Reality,” VidTrans 2018 is pulling out the stops for attendees, among which will be an interoperability demonstration of technologies for transporting uncompressed video and audio over IP, including the AMWA NMOS IS-06 Interop.

The annual VidTrans conference, Feb. 28-March 2, at the Marina del Rey Marriott, has long been a place where new video transport formats get their first public showing, and the 2017 edition is no different; once again it’s stuffed full of fresh technologies.

The Video Services Forum said a “major industry interoperability demonstration” of uncompressed audio and video over an IP network will be conducted at the group’s upcoming technical conference, VidTrans 2017, at the Marina del Rey Marriott, Feb. 28 to March 2.

VSF TR-03 allows the individual elements of video, audio, and ancillary data to be separately forwarded through a network, and re-composed into different combinations as needed for production purposes.
