Telewest launches TV-on-demand service.
Telewest Broadband has launched Teleport, a service that allows UK cable viewers to create their own TV schedule and watch what they want, when they want.
The Teleport service is accessed via the existing set-top box and remote control, using an on-screen menu to select from a choice of viewing menus. It also offers the same control as watching a DVD or video - once a program or movie is selected, customers can start watching at a convenient time and pause, fast forward and rewind.
Teleport Movies offers a library of around 200 current and classic films from FilmFlex. Teleport Replay provides a second chance to catch popular programs from the previous week, and Teleport Life offers special interest programs. Teleport TV, to be added soon, will include classic series and music videos on a subscription basis.
