Studios invest in SSL’s C200

Blue Sound studios in Paris is ready to go with its new C200 digital production console from SSL.

Blue Sound, located in Paris, France, has purchased two Solid State Logic C200 digital production consoles. The studio is replacing a SL4000 and an Axiom console, and has now installed a C232 in Studio A and a smaller C216 in Studio B.

Both are attached to digital audio workstations. In addition to being able to easily exchange signals and files between the two studios, the C200 provides the same sound warmth of a traditional analog mixer. The console provides operators with an incredible amount of mixing information, especially when doing complex 5.1 mixes.

Across the Atlantic, SSL has also recently announced that The Dozier Center, a performing arts center on the outskirts of Atlanta, has also ordered two C200s. The 85,000sq ft Dozier Center boasts an 1800 sq ft recording studio featuring an SSL XL9080 K Series console and a 300 sq ft mix room featuring a C232. Also housed in the Dozier Center is a 700-seat 5.1 concert hall/theater with a Front of House C224 fully recallable console that will be used for live and post production operations.
