SmartAV goes Professional

Australian company SmartAV has launched a line of six mix and post-production consoles, all based on their successful Elite series. The consoles share functionality but offer a number of different configurations based on their targeted markets.

The Professional series Mix consoles feature integrated audio workstation control, supporting applications including Apple Logic and Merging Technologies’ Pyramix, as well as integration with Peavey Nion and Klotz Digital Vadis for live mixing. Three models are available: the P48 Mix 8 offers 48-144 channels, eight faders and eight channel strips; the P48 Mix 16 features the same channel and channel strip count, but with 16 faders; the P72 Mix 24 offer 72-216 channels24 faders and 16 channel strips.

The Professional series Post line consoles feature full workstation integration including 95 user-programmable buttons and high-resolution jog/shuttle wheel, and support for Pyramix, Nuendo, and HUI/ProTools control protocol. The P48 Post 4 offers 48-144 channels, four faders, four channel strips and workstation controls; the P48 Post 8 offers the same channel and channel strip count with eight faders; and the P72 Post 16 features 72-216 channels with 16 faders, eight channel strips and workstation controls.

The SmartAV Professional line features the company’s ARC layer technology option, which effectively triples the number of dedicated channel strips to be controlled. Touching the ARC strip brings the desired channel range directly in front of the engineer, providing immediate access to any range of channel controls via the desk’s ergonomically designed control surface.
