Network Electronics supplies fiber backhaul for Utah inauguration

Network Electronics’ fiber optic transport system — flashlink — was on hand to transport signals at Jon Huntsman Jr.'s oath of office in Utah.

When Jon Huntsman Jr. took the oath of office to become Utah’s governor, Network Electronics’ fiber optic transport system — flashlink — was on hand to transport signals to all of Salt Lake City’s major broadcasters.

The delivery of the governor’s inaugural speech Jan. 3 was transmitted by an innovative fiber optic system. Network Electronics’ flashlink optical modules were installed at both ends of a fiber strand transporting video and audio signals from the inauguration to a Salt Lake uplink and microwave facility for distribution to local stations.

RIA delivered the system composed of multiple two-channel analog audio multiplexers and de-multiplexers, analog-to-digital video SDI converters and digital-to-analog SDI converters. Network Electronics’ GYDA System Controller TCP/IP – SMNP was used for control.
