KTRV-TV lowers operational costs with Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT automation system
By TVTechnology published
KTRV-TV, the Boise, ID, FOX affiliate owned by Block Communications, recently completed an upgrade to broadcast operations with a Sundance Digital FastBreak NXT automation package that enables the station to increase operating efficiencies and decrease downtime associated with tape-based playback.
KTRV-TV initially installed basic FastBreak software in 2006 to automate interstitials at the station. The newly upgraded FastBreak NXT suite now allows the station to fully automate control of all on-air operations of the simulcast analog-digital channel, including syndicated programming via Intelli-Sat, Sundance’s recording-management system for satellite and other incoming feeds.
In addition to the Intelli-Sat system, KTRV’s NXT automation controls tape decks, a Thomson Grass Valley switcher, a Venus router, a Saturn switcher and two Omneon MediaDecks.
