Genelec introduces new bi-amp audio monitoring system

Genelec demonstrated its smallest speaker system to date at the 119th AES convention last month.

The new 8020A system has been designed for monitoring in difficult listening environments, particularly those characterized by lack of space.

The 8020A two-way active monitoring speaker system incorporates Genelec's acoustic design innovations to minimize all forms of distortion and has a die-cast aluminum Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE).

The new 8020A also incorporates the company’s advanced Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW), which provides a smooth on and off axis audio response, while the long, curved reflex port ends in a wide flare. Each monitor features a 4in bass driver along with a 3/4in tweeter loaded into a DCW. The free field frequency response is 66Hz to 20kHz (± 2.5dB).

Omnimount and Genelec monitor stand fixing holes are also standard. The 8020A can be combined with the new 7050B Laminar Spiral Enclosure (LSE) subwoofer to provide a bass-managed and wide bandwidth surround sound monitoring system.
