FCC re-charters Technological Advisory Council, announces members

The FCC has appointed members to its Technological Advisory Council (TAC) and published the group’s meeting dates for 2005 under the Council’s new charter.

The first TAC meeting under the new charter will take place April 15 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at commission headquarters in Washington, DC.

The Council will consider wireless device security and strategic challenges for cyber security. Other TAC meetings in 2005 will take place July 28 and Oct. 27 at FCC headquarters.

TAC exists to provide technical advice to the commission and to make recommendations on issues and questions of interest to the commission.

TAC meetings are open to the public and available via streaming media from the commission’s Web site.
