Departure: Howard Reig retires after 62 years as voice of NBC

Howard Reig, regarded as the voice of NBC, will retire after 62 years as the network’s staff announcer. Reig, 84, joined the network in 1943 and introduced its news programming during the stays of anchors John Chancellor, Tom Brokaw and, now, Brian Williams.
