Canal 4, CNN+ adopt P2 HD as acquisition format

Canal 4 News and CNN+, both part of the Sogecable group in Spain, are standardizing on the Panasonic P2 HD tapeless platform as their acquisition format.

Their adoption of the solid-state recording media brings the number of Spanish broadcasters that have adopted P2 to 15.

Sogecable has supported P2 since early 2004, and gradually all of the companies within the group have converted their workflows to a full IT approach. According to Panasonic, to date, 80 percent of European broadcasters that have adopted tapeless production methods have chosen P2 and P2 HD for acquisition.
