Czech broadcaster Z1, one of the new national broadcasters starting its operation under a digital terrestrial TV licence in the Czech Republic, has purchased a LEX2 graphics system and CAMIO news graphics management system from Chyron as part of its digital upgrade. The new digital channel will launch this summer with 24/7 news.

The HD/SD switchable LEX2, which includes the Lyric PRO creation and playout application, will support realtime 2D/3D animation including lower thirds, OTS and tickers. The CAMIO system will make up part of Z1's Dalet newsroom integration.

"The Chyron systems provide Z1 with modern TV graphics that include excellent 3D capabilities and a sophisticated workflow. We are impressed by the system's architecture and performance, particularly the quality of its graphical output," commented Petr Cernega, Head of Graphics Department, Z1.

The newsroom integration project is being undertaken by Chyron's local partner, Visual Connection.
