WRAL-TV provides wireless access to men’s basketball tournaments

With the help of wireless applications and content gateway services from Air2Web, WRAL-TV is providing subscribers with up-to-the-minute scores, game recaps and schedules.

North Carolina’s WRAL-TV has added ACC and NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament content to its News Over Wireless mobile news application with the help of technology from Air2Web.

Beginning last week, WRAL began providing subscribers with complete tournament coverage, including updated scores, game recaps and schedules. Air2Web is providing wireless applications and content gateway services for the project.

WRAL is offering complete ACC and NCAA tournament coverage on its analog and digital stations, on its Web site, and now on mobile phones.

Sprint PCS Vision customers can register for WRAL’s news and information application by visiting mobile.wral.com or they can download the application from the “Download” menu on their handset. The monthly fee is $3.99 for unlimited access to the service. This is in addition to the subscribers’ monthly Vision data plan.

Air2Web has established direct connections to the top 10 U.S. wireless carriers, and now reaches 91 percent of the U.S. mobile market — approximately 163 million mobile subscribers.
