ABC-owned WPVI-TV in Philadelphia began high-definition newscasts July 23. For the conversion, the station is using HD studio cameras, graphics and an HD-camera-equipped news chopper.
To date, there are about a dozen stations nationwide offering their local news in high definition. WPVI joins KABC in Los Angeles as the ABC-owned stations currently on-air with high-definition newscasts.
