In support of its newest digital production studio, TV-3, in New York City, ABCNews has installed a full complement of Grass Valley brand digital production and distribution equipment from Thomson.
Among the fully compatible, multi-format equipment supplied by Thomson are a Grass Valley Kalypso Duo Video Production Center, two Apex 512 audio routing switchers; Trinix 512 and Trinix 256 video routers; and numerous Kameleon wideband and Gecko conversion modules. ABCNews has also purchased the Grass Valley Jupiter router control system with Encore interface for the Kalypso, and Grass Valley Newton control system to manage its modular conversion products.
ABC also operates two additional digital studios in New York.
