Microsoft announced a software update for Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 that provides additional HDTV tuner support. The update allows use of an additional HDTV tuner, enabling the software to support for up to four tuners--two analog tuners and two ATSC digital tuners. The system allows personal video recording of two shows at one time in either SD or HD formats. Other new capabilities include the conversion of HD shows to SD and burning to a DVD in one step.
