Wichita’s KWCH purchases Riedel intercom platform

KWCH, a Wichita, KS-based TV station, has installed a digital matrix intercom system from Riedel Communications. The new Artist-based system integrates telephone lines into the intercom.

KWCH operates a local TV broadcast network specializing in news and weather programs. At the heart of the installation is the Artist 128 digital matrix intercom. Nine Artist 1000 series desktop control panels provide digital broadcast quality audio. Artist intercom matrices can be easily expanded to up to 1024 x 1024 nonblocking ports.

A Riedel C44 system interface integrates the existing digital partyline system into the communications infrastructure. Two Artist Connect Solo interfaces integrate POTS phone lines into the communications matrix.

Seven C3 Performer beltpacks and 10 closed Riedel PRO headsets complete the installation. The system is already installed and in operation.
