What do HDTV owners like to watch in HD? That’s the question DIRECTV set out to answer in a recent survey of 400 HDTV owners.
The survey wanted to identify viewers’ favorite reasons for choosing HD. Among the findings:
- Best television show in HD: “Heroes” came in as the frontrunner while a large female contingent helped “Desperate Housewives” reach the number two spot.
- Sport most enhanced by HD: More than half of viewers say football is the sports experience most enhanced by HD, followed distantly by baseball.
- Most amazing channel to watch in HD: Almost half of viewers say HD Theater from Discovery is the channel that looks the most amazing in HD, while ESPN HD came in second.
- Hottest celebrity in HD: Jessica Alba, with Angelina Jolie a close runner-up.
OTX (Online Testing eXchange), a global consumer research and consulting firm, conducted interviews for the survey.
