PARIS: U.S. regulators are vetting a new tablet computer from Thomson that sports an 8-inch, 800x480 resolution screen. The so-called “PoMMeS,” or “apples” in français, features “TV programs, VoIP video calls, weather services, online services and Web services, "according to the user’s manual posted on FCC Web site."
Engadget is calling it an “IPTV” tablet, designed specifically for streaming IP-based video, making it a sort of mobile TV. The PoMMeS has a built-in Webcam, a USB port and mic and headphone jacks. Technabob discovered the PoMMeS on the FCC site, and provides more details on the device .
