TV Stations Subpoenaed for Video Footage

SALT LAKE CITY:Authorities in Utah’s capital city have subpoenaed video footage from local TV stations in the hunt for a missing woman. Susan Powell was last seen Dec. 6. Her husband Josh Powell has been named a person of interest in the investigation. The police have requested any video footage of Josh Powell from TV stations.

NBC affiliate KSL-TV received an electronic subpoena on Friday after business hours, the Deseret News said. A KSL executive said the station would follow protocol for providing the footage. He said virtually all of the station’s interview footage with Powell had been aired, and therefore he saw little use in fighting the subpoena. The local ABC affiliate, KTVX-TV and the CBS, KUTV-TV also received subpoenas, The Salt Lake City Tribune said.
