Turner Chooses Miranda MC Switchers

Miranda Technologies recently announced that Turner Broadcasting Systems (TBS) has selected eight Miranda NV5100MC master control switchers in a program to upgrade the network’s training facility at the TBS Broadcast Operating Center in Atlanta. The facility provides both off-line and on-air training for new operators.

“Our training facility offers very realistic, hand-on training for our master control operators,” said Ron Tarasoff, vice president of broadcast technology and engineering at TBS. “Since Turner’s Broadcast Operating Centers are now equipped with NV5100MC master control switchers, we needed to add the same equipment to our training facility.”

The Miranda NV5100MC switcher incorporates internal channel branding, along with multichannel audio control with Dolby-E decoding.

In addition to providing training for operating personnel, the TBS facility also serves as a backup master control facility for the network. It was designed to provide three off-line training positions and two con-air control positions.
