Triveni digital to present first free seminar in a new DTV training series at cities across the U.S. in May and June

To help increase DTV training for broadcast and cable engineers across the U.S., Triveni Digital is presenting a free seminar series. The first seminar titled "PSIP and MPEG Compliance in Practice" is targeted at SBE, SMPTE, and SCTE members. The 1/2-day course features hands-on sessions with PSIP generators, multiplexers and stream analyzers.

The FCC PSIP mandate for ATSC broadcasters has created an environment where DTV streams typically have fully populated PSIP tables. Simultaneously, the plug and play agreement between the cable and consumer electronics industries requires carriage of a substantial subset of the PSIP tables if present in the off-air stream. The increasing shift to digital broadcast and emphasis on compliance issues has created a new set of operational challenges for both broadcasters and cable operators.

Consequently, Triveni Digital has created this seminar series to help fill the need for better information to understand both the issues and the tools available to effectively meet these operational challenges.

Attendees who complete the "PSIP and MPEG Compliance in Practice" seminar will receive a certificate. Attendees who are certified by the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) may submit a copy of their certificate to be considered for recertification credits from SBE.

The seminar schedule includes the following dates and cities:
May 17Atlanta, GA
May 19Orlando, FL
May 24Chicago, IL
May 26Columbus, OH
June 7 St. Louis, MO
June 9 Denver, CO
