Time Warner Cable in Green Bay deploys Optinel
Optinel Systems said that Time Warner Cable’s Green Bay division has deployed its PLEXiS MFX network transport platform to support a variety of services in Northeast Wisconsin. It’s Time Warner’s second such installation.
The PLEXiS platform supports a variety of network configurations, ranging from simple, point-to-point links to fully-protected, multi-service ring or star topologies.
The PLEXiS system is capable of supporting from just a few to more than 80,000 video streams per fiber over distances of greater than 500km. The multi-format nature of the technology coupled with the ease of scalability allows a wide variety of services to be simultaneously transported.
PLEXiS uses scalable optical Gigabit Ethernet. Available in multiple transceiver, transmitter and receiver formats, it provides 1, 2.5 or 10 Gbps of unidirectional or bidirectional capacity per wavelength, allowing a balance between high network capacity and granular scalability.
The platform supports a variety of network configurations, ranging from simple, point-to-point links to fully-protected, multi-service ring or star topologies. Additionally, Optinel’s suite of software products provides the necessary network management and control functions to support network deployments of all sizes and configurations.
