TigerTiger burning with BrightDrive

TigerTiger Post, Malaysia's newest DI post production facilities set up in October 2008, has purchased a BrightDrive media recording system from Bright Systems for a new commercials workflow. The system will form the basis of a digital media sharing infrastructure for the facility's digital intermediate (DI) applications.

The BrightDrive system will offer 30 TB of storage and will be connected to a Lasergraphics Director film scanner, a da Vinci Resolve R250 colour corrector, an Autodesk Flame 2009, and Final Cut Pro editing systems.

BrightDrive installation will enable digital media to be shared across all postproduction and DI workflows including ingest, conform, editing, effects, 2D and 3D animation, colour grading and compositing, irrespective of the mix of operating systems in use. Ethernet, Fibre Channel and video networks can be used, delivering media at speeds greater than real-time and in any resolution.

"Using BrightDrive media recording as the heart of our data-centric workflow will give greater creative freedom, with instant access to scanned or imported material from all the creative workstations," said Sunita Petrus, owner, TigerTiger. "BrightDrive is easy to use, reliable and will enable our operators to work together in a very flexible environment."

BrightDrive was supplied by The Media Village, Singapore, Bright Systems' business partner for Southeast Asia.
