Thomson Grass Valley announces ADVC-HD50 converter
By TVTechnology published
Thomson Grass Valley is launching the ADVC-HD50 Advanced Digital Video Converter, which converts uncompressed HDMI HD video and audio to the HDV format and outputs the signal via FireWire (IEEE 1394) for use in any HDV-compatible nonlinear editor.
Thomson is targeting the professional videography and prosumer marketplace for the first time with the ADVC-HD50. HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) is becoming a common interface, featured on many new HDV and AVCHD camcorders.
The ADVC-HD50 can be used with both Mac and PC-based editors. The unit will be available in April.
