The enhancements include a new Grass Valley Ingest Station, a multichannel ingest application; a new version of the Grass Valley NewsEdit system; and key upgrades to the Grass Valley NewsBrowse Web-based browser/editor.

Thomson also announced a newly established technology partnership with Publison, which enables NewsEdit system customers to work in tandem with the Publison audio post-production system and perform dedicated, frame-accurate audio mixing.

Among the Thomson developments:

  • The new Grass Valley Ingest Station 1.0 manages automatic recording of tape-based materials to one or more digital channels and supports up to six channels. It can send materials to Grass Valley Profile 6G and Profile XP Media Platform servers, Grass Valley M-Series iVDRs and Grass Valley FeedClip interactive feed capture systems.
  • The addition of P2 and XDCAM support, and integration with Final Cut Pro and Publison System to NewsEdit 5.1.
