The Will-Burt Co. has acquired Eden, N.C.-based Antenna Mast Inc., which specializes in the design and manufacture of portable, multi-use telescoping mast systems. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
The deal expands Will-Burt's portfolio of product lines include TowerMast, MobileMast, Telemast and the E-Z Raze System. The new mast product brands have applications in both commercial and military markets. Will-Burt is an employee-owned company based in Orrville, Ohio.
AMI will be integrated into the Mast Division of The Will-Burt Co., which manufactures precision-engineered solutions for a variety of commercial, mobile, industrial and military applications.
AMI's mast system is rooted in the commercial broadcast industry in North Carolina and Virginia, where in 1992 the initial prototypes of the MobileMast were developed to assist small radio and television broadcasting services that covered sports and news events. Since then, AMI has expanded its markets to include the government, military, and commercial sectors, as well as individual users.
"The Antenna Mast line is complementary to our current offerings and expands the categories in which we participate," said Jeff Evans, CEO of Will-Burt Co. "This acquisition is consistent with the strategy of growing our telescoping mast business. Because Antenna Mast is marketed through similar distribution channels, it will allow Will-Burt to leverage our existing sales and distribution network."
