The Hiring Post Does Autumnwatch

Equipment supplied by U.K. broadcast hire company, The Hiring Post, has been put to use by BBC Post Production on the current series of Autumwatch for the second year running. The live nature series is produced by the BBC Natural History Unit in Bristol and airs Monday to Thursday on BBC Two until 7th November.

The Hiring Post has supplied an Avid Unity MediaNetwork with 8 TB of storage, four Avid Media Composer Adrenaline systems and two Avid Airspeed multi-purpose media platforms. The system, which has been pre-built and delivered by The Hiring Post to the Brownsea Island—where much of the series is being filmed—also includes an Intel database server, Avid Command automation control system and a number of Digi Betas and DVCAM VTRs.

The Hiring Post is also contracted to provide on-site technical support for the whole of the Avid workflow technology.

David Johnson, Managing Director, The Hiring Post commented: "The experience we have gained over the last two years on both the Autumnwatch and Springwatch programmes provides solid foundations that inspire confidence in an often unpredictable live television environment."
