Denmark cable operator Telia Stofa has chosen Irdeto to provide its digital
TV content security solution for its HDTV service.
Telia Stofa is offering Danish consumers access to HD production of the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. Telia Stofa with TDC Cable TV has purchased the rights to show all of the matches transmitted on TV channels DR and TV2 in high definition.
Irdeto Digital TV encryption protects Telia Stofa’s StofaXtra service, and Irdeto’s content security technology is integrated with the Samsung HDTV decoder that the cable company’s customers use. Irdeto proposed the Samsung set-top box solution because of proven, joint projects with the manufacturer at other cable operators in Europe.
