TecNec Distributing Announces VPTR-1 Low-Cost Production Trailer

TecNec Distributing announced the availability of its latest low-cost production trailer, the VPTR-1. The rack-ready 20-foot by 8.5-foot audio and video production trailer, with a ceiling height of 6.5 feet, is fully heated and air-conditioned and comes pre-wired with heavy-duty AC wiring. It is ideal for television studios and stations with limited budgets, corporate meetings, news and sports events, DVD production, media tours, and religious productions, among other uses.

"The VPTR-1 has all the features of an OB unit at the cost of a portable case, making it ideal for quality, cost-efficient production," said Andy Barth, vice president at TecNec Distributing. "With an equipment-accommodation wall comprising four 6-foot-high 19-inch EIA racks, a 7-foot-wide adjustable console situated for maximum proximity to a switcher, and a 4-foot-deep work room, among many other features, it rivals many of the costlier OB vans on the market today."

The VPTR-1 features a professional all-white exterior. The interior of the trailer is carpeted and finished in a no-glare, medium-grey, high-tech acoustic fabric, ideal for maintaining a quiet and calm production environment. It is fully wired for AC shore power, with a full-size, 30-A capacity AC breaker box controlling the trailer's 110-A wiring. The trailer also features stylish and dimmable track lighting, as well as outside quartz task lighting. Operators can access the rear of the rack wall via twin swing-out doors on the rear of the trailer. Users can access the unit through a 36-inch-wide passenger door located on the curb-side of the unit.

Other production features of the VPTR-1 include three cable feed-through hatch doors, as well as a full audio, video, CAT5, and telco I/O panel, located outside the hatch door, featuring Canare and Neutrik connectors for quick and efficient interfacing. Standard features of the trailer include, but are not limited to, Dexter Torflex twin axles, E-Z lube hubs with Grease Zerks, premium radial tires, chrome mag-style wheels, a 15,000-BTU roof AC unit with heat strip, one motorized and one passive roof vent with rain guards, four lockable cable I/O doors, an eight-foot moveable console table, dual rear stabilizers, 3,600 pounds of extra gear-carrying capability, and 2,900 pounds of curb weight.
