TANDBERG Television introduces RX8320 ATSC broadcast receiver

TANDBERG Television is debuting its RX8320 ATSC broadcast receiver at The Cable Show ’08, which wraps up today.

TANDBERG Television developed the new RX8320 ATSC broadcast receiver specifically to help cable operators recreate analog signals for their subscribers after broadcasters turn off their analog signals in February 2009.

The company has designed the unit to pass through incoming digital signals as required by the FCC, and convert HD signals into NTSC for legacy analog subscribers. Active Format Description (AFD) data is read and acted on, and ancillary metadata for closed captions, program rating and Nielsen AMOL is processed for incorporation into the outgoing analog stream.
