At Supercomm 2005, TANDBERG Television showed telcos how they could use its EN5990 MPEG-4 AVC encoder as part of their IPTV strategy.
Earlier this month at Supercomm 2005, TANDBERG Television showed how telcos could use several of its platforms to support their expansion into the all aspects of the IPTV business, including SD, HDTV and on-demand entertainment.
TANDBERG Television showed its HD products for MPEG-4 AVC and Windows Media Video 9 (Microsoft’s implementation of VC-1, the proposed SMPTE standard). These advances in bit-rate efficient encoding offer telcos a potent weapon to compete with recent HDTV advances in satellite TV.
The company highlighted its EN5990 MPEG-4 AVC and EN5980 Windows Media Video 9 (VC-1) HD encoders.
