TEN Network in Sydney has purchased in a Snell & Wilcox Alchemist PhC-HD High Definition standards converter. The order was placed via S&W's local distributor Quinto Communications as part of the launch of TEN's free-to-air HD services.
The Alchemist enables TEN to convert overseas HD content to 1080i50 HD whilst maintaining picture quality.
"We had been dissatisfied with the quality of previous HD standards conversion solutions but the Alchemist PhC-HD provides very transparent results allowing us to deliver overseas HD content to our viewers with uncompromised quality," said TEN's Glenn Carrick.
