Survey says: Checkbooks Are Packed for NAB

LAS VEGAS: Nearly 80 percent of more than, 3,000 people registered for the NAB Show in the desert next week are coming to buy products or services, the organization said today. Previous shows have generated in excess of $50 billion in sales for exhibitors, the NAB said.

Additional findings from the survey conducted during the first week in April also include:
-- 93 percent of respondents play a role in purchasing products and services showcased on the show floor, while 41 percent have final purchase authority.

-- 88 percent of people surveyed said the convention was “very or somewhat important” to their purchasing plan for the year in progress.

-- 42 percent said seeing new products and comparing them for future purchase were two main reasons for going to the show.

-- 34 percent said NAB’s was the only convention they planned to attend this year.

-- Nearly 30 percent of those pre-registered come from outside of the United States.

-- 24 percent of people pre-registered for the show are C-level executives with influence in making buying decisions for their companies.

-- 23 percent of pre-registrants are coming to the convention for the first time.
