Sundance Vet Moves to Harris

Harris Corp. has appointed Fred Schultz as senior marketing manager for news solutions to its Leitch NEXIO server systems team. The company said Schultz will work closely with Harris news solutions product management to promote awareness and increase sales of the NEXIO NewsNet digital news production system.

"Harris is in a unique position in the marketplace today in terms of its ability to deliver fully integrated, end-to-end newsroom solutions for both standard-definition and high-definition workflows," said Schultz. "Advancing the value of a brand is much easier when you're working with an exceptional product, and the NEXIO NewsNet production system offers sophisticated architecture, forward-looking design features and a strong brand reputation."

Schultz brings more than a decade of experience in video server-based newsroom systems and has won a Primetime Emmy for Best Sound Mixing. He comes to Harris from Sundance Digital, where he was vice president of news automation. Prior to joining Sundance Digital, Schultz worked with the Leitch (and formerly ASC) server group from its inception, providing product management and support for the VR300 and VR400 series servers.

"With this appointment, Harris will capitalize on Fred's extensive product management experience and our ability to deliver world-class newsroom systems, further strengthening our leadership position in this market segment," said Tim Thorsteinson, president-elect of the Harris Broadcast Communications Division.
