SGI has expanded its workstation line with the introduction of the new Silicon Graphics Tezro visual workstation, a powerful system said to deliver leading-edge visualization, multiprocessing, and digital media to technical and creative users in shorter production cycles.
With its support for two streams of high-definition 10-bit 4:4:4:4 RGBA video, Tezro delivers high-definition video capabilities that were previously only available on SGI Onyx family systems.
The manufacturer also introduced the new Silicon Graphics Onyx4 UltimateVision System, a fourth generation product offering eight times the performance at one-fifth the price of previous Onyx systems.

Tezro also offers a breakthrough entry price point for a system of its caliber with a price 20 percent lower than the Silicon Graphics Octane2 system for an overall 3X-price/performance improvement.
For digital media professionals, Tezro supports a full suite of SGI DMediaPro options. These options provide the high-definition and standard-definition multiformat real-time video input and output for broadcast, post-production, and film editing. SGI said its new Onyx4 UltimateVision is a new class of visualization system that enables users to address bigger tasks with up to 40 times the price/performance of its previous Onyx systems.
