From FCC Report SAT-00522.
- The FCC granted, with conditions, a request from PanAmSat Licensee Corp. to modify its authorization for Galaxy 12 to allow it to operate as an in-orbit spare at 122.9 degrees west longitude (WL) using conventional C-band frequencies. PanAmSat requested a 30-day extension on its special temporary authority (STA) through 9/27/2008, to drift Galaxy 12 from 125.10 degrees to 122.9 degrees WL. Since the FCC granted PanAmSat's modification application, the STA was granted, "to the extent necessary and otherwise dismissed as moot."
- Sirius XM Radio Inc. withdrew its application for STA to continue to operate certain terrestrial repeaters for 180 days.
