Satellite Update

The FCC International Bureau granted Sirius Satellite Radio Inc.'s application to construct, launch and operate geostationary satellite SIRIUS FM-5 at 96 degrees West Longitude. The satellite will use 2320.0-2332.5 MHz space-to-Earth and 7050-7072.5 MHz Earth-to-space. DIRECTV Enterprises LLC's request for 30-day special temporary authority to conduct the telemetry, tracking, and command operations necessary to de-orbit the DIRECTV 2 from 91 degrees WL was approved. The information is from FCC Report SAT-00438.

The FCC International Bureau has added a question to FCC Form 312, the main satellite earth station license application form. The new question requires applicants to certify that they are not subject to geographic services or, if they are, that they will comply with any geographic service rules that apply to them. See Public Notice DA-07-1762 for additional information.
