Russia’s Channel One implements Dalet Enterprise Edition

Russian public broadcaster Channel One (formally ORT) has implemented Dalet Enterprise Edition to transform its large-scale news production to digital operation with Dalet’s asset management technology.

With 95 percent market coverage in Russian-speaking countries, Channel One employs more than 2000 people, 800 of whom work in news, covering six time zones with eight thematic channels distributed via terrestrial and satellite channels. Channel One offers a wide range of programming from 24-hour news and live talk shows to magazine programs and feature films.

The Dalet Enterprise Edition deployment is helping Channel One migrate its news operation from an in-house, tape-based system to a completely digital workflow.

According to Anton Philippov, director deputy of information services for Channel One, the Dalet Enterprise Edition allowed the operation to custom design its workflow while relying on open IT standards and broadcast production technology.
