Ross Video releases sideCar
By TVTechnology published
Ross Video has released sideCar, a compact control panel that connects directly to any OverDrive remote client PC. The unit gives OverDrive operators one-touch control of rundowns, robotic cameras and audio flying faders.
With sideCar, a single operator has the ability to quickly make changes to accommodate late-breaking and unscripted events. For the facilities that leverage OverDrive’s client/server architecture, multiple sideCar panels can reside on the network allowing different operators to manage different devices in the production.
The sideCar was designed to provide a control interface for maximum production flexibility and device management on the OverDrive Automated Production Control Systems. It offers operators direct control of rundowns, OverDrive QuickRecalls and CustomControls, media playout, camera robotics and audio levels.
OverDrive uses a real-time LiveLink MOS interface to the newsroom editorial system. The extensive device control capabilities of the Synergy SD and multidefinition production switchers combined with OverDrive provides users the ability to execute a more consistent, efficient and sophisticated news production.
