RF Central said it is now shipping its RFX-RMR-II rack-mounted 5.8 GHz digital microwave receiver. Operating in the 5.8 GHz licensee-free band, the unit is designed for live sports, stadium and arena coverage as well as short-range ENG news remotes. It can be upgraded to support compressed HD video. Demodulation modes include QPSK, 16 QAM and 64 QAM, with auto detection.
“The RFX-RMR-II 5.8 rack-mounted receiver is an example of RF Central’s cutting edge technology,” said Jeff Winemiller, CEO of RF Central. “It allows program producers and broadcasters maximum flexibility with a non-licensed link.”
