Post-Newsweek Stations adopt AXIS maps

Post-Newsweek Stations have implemented Chyron’s AXIS maps online content creation services to generate maps for its local stations.

With Post-Newsweek Stations — including KPRC-TV in Houston; WDIV-TV in Detroit; WPLG-TV in Miami-Fort Lauderdale; WKMG-TV in Orlando, FL; KSAT-TV in San Antonio, TX; and WJXT-TV in Jacksonville, FL — working in a centralized graphics hub environment, the addition of AXIS maps provides news producers with the ability to create localized graphics using templates at their desktop.

“The online aspect of AXIS is very appealing because there is no additional equipment to purchase or install,” said Post-Newsweek Stations design hub director Felicia Steiger. “AXIS maps allows for map customization, banner design and road and land colors, all of which can be stylized to match clients’ on-air graphic package.”

According to Steiger, the central benefit of adding AXIS maps is placing control directly into the hands of the person telling the story. “It’s the producer who controls the parameters of map creation based on the specifics of their story,” she said.
