The DG-1200 interprets pre-programmed GPI and/or tally outputs from the switcher and generates delay control pulses to steer up to five AD-3100 audio synchronizers to eliminate the lip sync errors.
Uncorrected lip sync errors often occur when a digital video effects unit (DVE) is combined with a production switcher to create over-the-shoulder shots, double box shots and other multi-source composited effects.
Whether the DVE is inside the switcher or is an external device, the video passing through the DVE is delayed by one or more video frames, which introduces a lip sync error.
The new Pixel Instruments DG-1200 solves this problem in a unique way. It interprets pre-programmed GPI and/or tally outputs from the switcher and generates delay control pulses to steer up to five AD-3100 audio synchronizers to eliminate the lip sync errors.
Each of the five delays can have a different duration and can be turned on and off independently. The DG-1200 can respond to tally signals alone, or for improved immunity to false delay generation, the tally input can be gated with GPI start and stop signals from the switcher.
