Patriot Antenna Systems has acquired new tooling, inventory and other assets in a purchase from Eagle Communications, a satellite antenna manufacturer located in Jackson, Mich.
The purchase includes tooling equipment and an inventory of 3.7- and 4.5-m antennas, in addition to a set of high-volume production tools for a commercial-quality 0.75-m antenna. The assets have been transferred to the Patriot facility in Albion, Mich. The Eagle products will be rebranded under the Patriot name.
Patriot plans to use the acquisition to expand its offerings in commercial-grade satellite antennas for broadcast and cable applications. The 0.75-m antenna, suited to direct-to-home and broadband satellite services applications, will be upgraded to a two-way VSAT ground station antenna for Ku and Ka-Band satellite Internet applications.
