Panasonic partners with Adspace for mall signage network

Panasonic and Adspace Networks have formed an alliance in support of Adspace’s U.S. digital signage advertising network. Panasonic initially is providing 826 HD plasma displays for 625 digital advertising kiosks, called Smart Screens. These are being installed at 54 Adspace Mall Network locations across the country, with programming and advertising content provided by Adspace.

In addition to the actual screens and software, Panasonic’s retailTV offering includes design and consultation, network implementation and management service capabilities.

Adspace currently has 15 Panasonic kiosks in the Neshaminy Mall, outside of Philadelphia, and in Woodbridge Center in Woodbridge, NJ. Displays contain a 65in HD Panasonic plasma screen, speakers, computer processor for system control and custom power cabling. The kiosks are installed as either one-sided or two-sided displays.

Installation at the remaining 52 shopping malls will be completed by October of 2007, in time for the busy holiday shopping season.
