Oregan Networks' middleware solution ready for home entertainment products

Oregan Networks, a software technology and services company specializing in solutions for low-power consumer electronics, has successfully implemented its white label middleware solution in a wireless video streaming device that was recently certified by the Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA). The device features plug and play interoperability with PCs, smart phones and other home media hosts designed to DLNA guidelines. Oregan's software module that enables such home media interoperability is an integral part of the company's complete set of software components, which allows consumers to access Internet-based or personal media on television sets.

Work is underway with Oregan's clients, spanning broadcast cable and satellite markets to leading retail consumer electronics brands, to incorporate media sharing functionalities inside a variety of device form factors and classes. Based on analysis of market requirements, flat-panel LCD TVs, mobile handsets, gaming consoles and carrier-distributed set-top boxes are likely to be the main device categories to offer home networking technologies and facilitate the mobility of digital media.
The Oregan Media Browser enables home networking capabilities as defined by the DLNA, a technology alliance that is focused on delivering an interoperability framework of design guidelines based on open industry standards to complete the cross-industry digital convergence between digital home devices. The digital home vision of DLNA integrates the Internet, mobile and broadcast networks through a seamless, interoperable network.
