OmniBus continues extensive growth throughout Asian-Pacific region

Continuing its extensive growth, OmniBus Systems has announced major sales in the Asia Pacific region.

The broadcast automation software company has expanded its sales team and delivered its first installation to Thailand, supplying an automated transmission suite at TV Channel 11 Thailand.

In July, Malaysian terrestrial TV channel TV3 chose OmniBus to lead a project to automate its transmission. Due to be fully operational by the fourth quarter of 2003, the project will be expanded to include automated news early next year.

The deals build on OmniBus' recent ambitious Asia-Pacific projects, including its automation of 10 channels for MEASAT Broadcast Network System (MNBS). The system was commissioned and installed in 90 days in early 2003.

Following a previous contract with India's Sahara TV, OmniBus is to expand the automation infrastructure to accommodate three new 24-hour news channels. OmniBus also has been selected by Indian state broadcaster Doordarshan to advance the infrastructure of its transmission suite by the end of the year.

OmniBus is also formalizing a distribution structure for Australia and New Zealand and continues to expand its sales team to support the existing distribution network throughout the rest of Asia.
