Omaha station pulls DTV signal from Cox over compensation dispute
KETV-DT, the Hearst-Argyle Television-owned ABC affiliate in Omaha, NE, Oct. 1 stopped providing KETV-DT for carriage on Cox cable TV systems, the station announced.
According to a statement on the station’s Web site, the decision to yank the station’s digital HD signal from Cox was taken as “the result of unsuccessful negotiations between representatives of Hearst-Argyle Television… and Cox.”
Cox subscribers in Omaha are charged for access to KETV-DT’s programming, and Hearst-Argyle was “seeking fair and reasonable terms from Cox in return.” The station is continuing to supply its analog signal to Cox for retransmission.
